Step into a dark, cursed world as Mortanox, a fallen hero trapped between life and death. This 2D pixel art platformer combines fast-paced sword combat, exploration, and resource management in a haunting fantasy realm.

• Play as Mortanox, an animated cursed hero with Latin-inspired roots

• Collect Lucarii — ancient coins used to heal and upgrade your abilities

• Manage your Vitalis (health), starting with 5 hearts and visually represented for immersive feedback

• Battle hostile bats that deal damage and require multiple hits to defeat

• Face mini-bosses after every 5 bat kills; their AI and behaviors are under development

• Progress through increasingly challenging levels tracked between game sessions

• Experience original pixel art and music crafted with Piskel, Photoshop, and FL Studio

Naming and Theme

The game’s names and terms are deeply inspired by Latin and dark fantasy lore to create a unique atmosphere:

• Mortanox reflects the cursed nature of the protagonist, blending notions of death and mystery

• Lucarii symbolizes light and treasure, representing the coins Mortanox collects

• Vitalis stands for life force or vitality, the health system the player must carefully manage

This mythic naming enriches the world and ties gameplay and story together.

Asset Notes

Currently, the Mortanox character and bat enemy are created from template assets. Original features, animations, and AI for the bat will be added in future updates to enhance uniqueness and gameplay depth.

Please Note

Currently, the sounds and background art are placeholders. We are actively working to replace these with original, polished assets to fully realize the game's dark fantasy atmosphere in future updates.
